Big Bass Splash

Big Bass Splash is a laid-back fishing game that I expected to bounce off in an hour, and instead played for a whole weekend. The core loop is casting your line into different water spots, waiting for a bite, then reeling in with a rhythm-based tap that keeps the tension bar in a safe zone. It sounds trivial written down, but it feels satisfying once the bigger fish start fighting back.

Controls are all thumb-friendly. You drag to aim your cast, tap to set the hook, and hold-and-release to reel. The game reads short taps and longer holds differently, so once you learn the feel of a heavier catch, you start anticipating the pulls instead of reacting late. That small skill curve is what kept me coming back between bus rides.

What I liked most is how calm it is. There is no timer breathing down your neck and no punishing failure state — worst case you lose a fish and try the next spot. Sessions fit neatly into a few minutes, which is exactly what I want from something I open while waiting for coffee.
